What a dissapointment….
Software wanted to install its own operating system and caused me grief to no end.
I un-installed the software and canned the phone.
Dont waste your money here

This USB plug-in Wi-Fi Internet Voip Phone is especially made for using the Skype Service. It is a dream for a person like me who is voluntarily homeless to conduct proprietary poverty reduction development work. Thus I am totally mobile and Internet based tapping into free Wi-Fi Zones provided by commercial venues and private citizens with my laptop and avoiding the high cost of a cell phone that is costly for the phone hardware and costly for the service. I have been trying to get such a phone system for years and the future is here now. I especially enjoy the Wi-Fi capability of this system is not tracable as a cell phone. I still have the option of using it with a wireless card when no Wi-Fi is avalable or settling down using a land based Internet Broadband fibre optic service.
Using Amazon.com affiliated merchants I got the phone delivered next day for less than half the listed retail price. With its built in driver and its excellent sound quality no one knows I am using the inexpensive Internet Voip technology. My previous Vonage USB Wi-Fi Voip Phone and Service does not compare in cost-effectiveness and sound quality nor service.
Thus key to this dream is the excellent services of Skype at a cost that is unbelievably inexpensive domestically and internationally.
The phone was made for the Skype Voip Service and together they are unbeatable. I can not think of anyway to improve it except to have a wireless version of the same phone.
As a bonus I met my future wife who saw my profile on Skype and insists on joining me under the bridge and working together using our Internet based poverty reduction web site.

This review is for people wanting to use this phone for SIP VOIP providers other than SKYPE and free third-party softphones. I am using it with SIPGATE but I think just about any other SIP provider would also work. I was wanting to use it with the excellent free X-Lite softphone. I was able to make that work great on my old office computer running Microsoft XP. Basically all of the buttons, keypad, microphone and speaker work. I’ll probably get a year’s worth of use out of this phone before I put that old ‘puter out to pasture.
On my laptop running Microsoft Vista, it was a different story. With the USB phone plugged in the X-Lite software immediately died with a fatal error. I installed the X-Tenn driver that is supposed to make this phone work with X-Lite and the driver immediately died when the USB phone was plugged into the USB Port. I finally abandoned X-Lite and started using a rather inferior and very simple softphone provided by my SIP provider SIPGATE. I was able to get the speaker and microphone to work but not the keypad. Basically, as another reviewer noted, this product is not VISTA compatible. It is kind of pathetic that they are still marketing a product that is at least 5 years out of date and not providing updated drivers. I wish I had just bought a headset. This phone was not very expensive but it is kind of a waste of money unless you have an antique computer and plan to keep using it for a few more years.
