Wind and Solar Communications Node: Explanation of Project
Dec.15, 2010 in
Fort Collins VoIP Video
An inexpensive communications network that brings internet connectivity to remote locations. Nodes are powered by a home-built wind turbine and a solar panel which enables Wi-Fi and VOIP connectivity. This project was located on a hill at Rochester Institute of Technology where it operated for over a year. Sadly, the project has since been removed to make room for a parking lot. @241Groundhog But if you’re in a park, do you really want wi-fi? anybody gonna be doing any computer on a park bench? with the wind and glare of the sun? Why would you want to use wi-fi in a park? If you’re in a park, it stands to reason you went there for other reasons.
