im not arsed about the bloody cover, i typed in skypephone review. not skypephone boxing review, god sake. If you kno all this stuff about business’ surely u know what you have to say in a review/pitch.
I just checked and found another new firmware update as of 10-29-09, upgrading now!
There are 3 different hardware revisions of this (I have the first). I wonder what the differences are and if performance is better in latter version(s).
Thanks for the great review! You clearly want people to get more from their hardware! I was wondering if this phone is out of date with quadband wifi phones supporting skype becoming available finally.
The Skype phones seem like they would be simple to operate, but incoming calls may be lost with wifi.
I’m interested in two solutions right now, Vimbuzz offers a service to page you into a skype call and the M88+/M89 and HTC G1 offer different underlying operating systems. Android or Windows 6
Great phone!! Mine came today (8/14/09) and NO ECHO so maybe I have the newer firmware, not sure how to check it just yet, have been playing, calling friends on their land line phones. They say I sound crystal clear as did they. I’m so glad I passed on the NetGear and the Belkin. I’m sold on this IPEVO!!
The SO-20 does not have the built-in browser. If the wifi network in the coffee shop requires you to log-in using an ID and password, SO-20 cannot be used in that environment. This is where the issue is. As to the sound quality, it really depends on the wifi connection quality. If you have good connection, the sound quality can be good.
