i purchased this product, only to find out it ONLY works with SKYPE. if it works with YAHOO, AOL, OR MSN MESSENGERS, i have not yet figured it out. but i cant see it working with the other messengers since it is made by SKYPE. i would like to give it ZERO stars, but it does work with SKYPE.

this one does not include battery, and it’s very hard to find a battery to fit for this phone.
even if you want to buy a battery by yourself, you can not find an information regarding the
battery type. unbelievable.

The phone works really well. But there are some issues…
1. Phone was a pain in the butt to get working…I have Windows 7 and the software that is packaged is not for Windows 7. So I basically had to figure out on my own that I needed to go to the makers website and download the correct driver from the website instead of using the software…which is at the website so no worries there. And, some people might forget to also download SkypeMate, in addition to Skype, in order to get the phone working. Once you have those two things done, the phone works great.
2. You can’t really use your PC for anything else while you are making a call because for some weird reason, all PC sounds come thru the phone while the USB is plugged in…so to have your PC sounds coming from your PC speakers, you need to unplug the USB cord from your PC while it’s not charging or not in use.
Besides those two issues…the phone is pretty darn good. The range is what it is supposed to be…I can walk around my entire house and even go a little ways outside without losing the phone connection. SkypeMate helps you adjust the volume to take it as loud or as quiet as you want, so volume level will never be an issue.
Someone mentioned in another review that you can’t use the number pad on the phone to make calls…that is not true, at least in my case…cause it works just fine. Also, there is a person icon on the phone, you can press that button and everyone on your PC’s Skype Calling List will come up on the screen, then you just use the arrow keys to scroll thru your calling list, then simply hit call on the phone.
This phone and Skype are awesome! I’m paying 7 dollars a month for unlimited calling to Europe so my mom can call her sister as much as she wants in Hungary. She used to only be able to call her about twice a month using phone cards. But thanks to Skype, she’s now calling her sister 3-4 a week and talking for two hours at a time…saving a fortune.

The phone works well and battery life seems good. What I don’t like about it is it does not have a hands free at the handset. It does on the cradle but that is useless for my needs. Also, it does not have good range – I get about 20 yards at most. Can’t use in upstairs bedroom and can’t use outside by the pool. Also, sits in cradle funny such that you have to place it just right for it to charge. Good news, it has a charging light so you know when it is sitting correctly. I would spend the extra money and get one with hands free at the headset.

To start yes I know Konichiwa is spelled wrong but that’s the way I like my screen name, lol. Now on to the review. I bought this phone based on ohter reviews and figured maybe i should try it because I got tired of sitting at the computer to talk when I do that for 8hrs a day at work. The laast thing I wanna do is be tied down to the pc at home. My phone arrived today and need I say it arrived quickly. The set up was basic and simple. The cd however did nothing for me during set up. I does state on the box you need windows 2000 or xp, so I went online as it says in the user manual to [...] and downloaded it for vista. the download took seconds. I then went into my documents on the pc after I could not see the green phone icon and double clicked on skypemate. the phone came right up and imported all my skype contacts. I called my sister right away in california from the east coast and the call was crystal clear. I think i’m going to buy one for all my sisters to have. I love this little phone. Now I can lay in bed on my pc and not have to shout across the room. If you have skype this is the phone to get. I even went out back to the trash while talking and the quality was awsome. I can’t wait to get the skype tv and tv webcam. If you have not seen thet skype enabled tv and webcam bar check it out it looks hott. In a nut shell, buy this phone you will not regret it. you will love it and the freedom it provides.
